History of Greenfield (Indiana)
In 1828, the first log cabin was built in presentday Greenfield, Indiana. John Paul and Sarah Harrison named the settlement after their hometown of Greenfield, Indiana. By 1836, the population had reached 100, and the town was officially platted. The first post office was established in 1837.
