History of Warwick
The city of Warwick, Rhode Island is located in Kent County and is the second largest city in the state. The city has a long and rich history dating back to 1642 when it was first founded by English settlers. Warwick was originally part of the land that was purchased from the Narragansett Indians by Roger Williams, the founder of Rhode Island. The city was named after Robert Rich, the Earl of Warwick.
