History of Susanville

The city of Susanville is located in the northeastern part of California in the Sierra Nevada mountains. It was originally settled by miners and ranchers in the late 1800s. The city was named after Susan Roop, the daughter of one of the early settlers.

Susanville was originally a small town, but it began to grow rapidly in the early 1900s when the Lassen Volcanic National Park was established nearby. The town became a popular tourist destination, and its population reached over 5,000 by the mid1900s.

The city continued to grow throughout the second half of the 20th century, and its population reached 10,000 by the year 2000. Today, Susanville is a thriving city with a population of over 13,000 people. It is home to a variety of businesses and industries, and its residents enjoy a high quality of life.
