History of Orange (Texas)

The city of Orange, Texas is located in the southern portion of the state, on the Sabine River. The city was originally founded in 1836 by a group of settlers from the Orange County, North Carolina. The settlers named their new town after the county they had come from. The town soon became a thriving community and was incorporated in 1845.
