History of Laguna Beach

Laguna Beach is a Southern California beach city located in Orange County. The city is known for its artists, beaches, and interesting history.

The first inhabitants of the area were the Tongva people. They lived in what is now known as Laguna Canyon. In the early 1800s, the Spanish came and established Mission San Juan Capistrano in the area. The mission was later abandoned, but many of the Tongva people remained.

In the early 1900s, the area began to attract artists because of its beautiful landscape. Laguna Beach became an art colony and many famous artists, including Frank Cuprien, Anna Hills, and William Wendt, lived and worked there.
