Hockley Heath is a village and civil parish in the Metropolitan Borough of Solihull, England. Historically part of Warwickshire, it is situated 10 miles (16 km) southeast of Birmingham, near the border with Worcestershire. It had a population of 3,158 at the 2011 census.
The toponym “Hockley” is derived from the Old English for “heathery hill”, while “Heath” refers to the common heathland found in the area.
The village is home to Hockley Heath Academy, a secondary school which opened in September 2009.
The civil parish includes the hamlets of Monks Heath and TanworthinArden, and borders Rowling and HamptoninArden to the south, Shirley to the southwest, Solihull to the northwest and Knowle to the northeast.
The B4101 road runs through the village, connecting it to Shirley to the southwest and Solihull to the northwest.
The closest railway station is HamptoninArden, which is on the Birmingham to Wolverhampton Line.

The plague struck the village in 1665 and killed many of its residents. During the English Civil War, Hockley Heath was a Royalist stronghold. In 1643, a battle was fought here between the Royalists and the Parliamentarians. The Royalists were defeated and Hockley Heath was looted.
During the Industrial Revolution, Hockley Heath became a busy market town with a weekly market and an annual fair. The village was connected to Birmingham by a tramway in 1872. The tramway was replaced by a railway line in 1909.
