History of Heber City
In 1859, Ebenezer Rhoades, a Mormon pioneer, settled in the Heber Valley, which is now known as Heber City. The first permanent settlers in the area were Mormon pioneers who came to the valley in the 1860s. The city was named after the Hebrew word for “heber”, which means “a place beyond”.
