Climax, Georgia is a city in the United States. The city has a population of 1,636 people as of 2019. The city is located in Decatur County, Georgia. The city was founded in 1833 by John C. Calhoun. The city was named after the Greek citystate of Climax. The city was incorporated as a municipality in 1857.

Climax was a predominantly agricultural community until the early 20th century. The city was home to many cotton plantations. The city was also home to the Climax Manufacturing Company, which produced cotton textiles. The company was founded in 1884. The company went out of business in the early 21st century.

The city is home to the Climax Historic District. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. The district includes the Climax Cotton Mill. The mill was built in 1884 and is the only remaining structure from the Climax Manufacturing Company.
