The city of Bowling Green, Kentucky, was established by European Americans in 1798. It was the capital of Confederate Kentucky during the American Civil War. It is the home of Western Kentucky University and the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft.
The area now known as Bowling Green was originally settled by Native Americans around 10,000 years ago. The first Europeans to live in the area were French fur traders, who arrived in the 17th century. In 1766, the British took control of the area from the French.
In 1798, the city of Bowling Green was established by European Americans. It was named after the city of Bowling Green, Virginia.
In the early 1800s, Bowling Green became an important center for the slave trade. After the American Civil War, the city became an industrial center.
In the early 1900s, the city’s population began to grow rapidly. This growth continued until the 1960s. Today, the city’s population is about 60,000.
